A Lubbock physician who recently had her license suspended has accepted a plea deal in court.

Dr. Brianne Williams accepted a plea deal last Friday for obtaining a controlled substance by fraud or deception.

Williams’ medical license was suspended last week amid reports of using heroin. According to a Texas Medical Board order, Williams admitted that she used heroin five times a day and was experiencing withdraws. She has dealt with abusing controlled substances in the past.

The plea deal says that Williams used pre-signed prescription forms from another doctor to obtain Hydromorphone.

If the court accepts the plea deal, she will be sentenced at a later date to a maximum of four years in prison.
