Thursday on Lubbock's First News, Nancy Neal of Lubbock Parks and Recreation gave details on the upcoming summer job fair and other events.

The Lubbock Parks and Rec job fair will be held May 15 from 3-7 p.m. This event will offer an opportunity to apply for summer job part-time positions and applicants may be process at the event. The department is hiring for camp counselors, lifeguards, cashiers, and pool laborers. Applicants should bring their driver's license and social security card. Regarding applicants, Neal said, "We are looking for folks that have a positive attitude and that are outgoing. They need to give us the opinion they are organized and can handle the work." Safety City will also be hosting the 3rd annual Hero's Health and Safety Fair, on Saturday, May 10, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be over 40 organizations offering a variety of games and information. The event provides information and activities for all ages, including free immunizations and car seat safety checks. Neal said, "It's a morning full of games for the kids, information.
