Lubbock Man Sentenced for Production of Child Pornography

A Lubbock man has been sentenced to federal prison for producing child pornography.
37-year-old Bobby Ray Childress has been sentenced to more than 17 years in prison, followed by 23 years of supervised release for production of child pornography.
Investigators with the Lubbock Police Department Vice Unit found a video depicting Childress and a minor child in a hotel room engaging in sexual acts.
Detectives identified the room using certain background characteristics as one belonging to a hotel in Odessa. Further investigation showed that Childress and the child stayed in that particular room.
On March 21st of 2012, Childress pleaded guilty to one count of production of child pornography.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney William Tatum.
