Lubbock Man Added to Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders List
A Lubbock man has been added to the state’s 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list.
45-year-old Robert Garcia failed to register as a sex offender in late 2009, and authorities have been searching for him since February 2010.
Garcia was convicted of Burglary and Attempted Murder in 1989, arrested three times for Driving Without a License, Burglary, and Driving Under the Influence of Liquor in 1991, and convicted on Burglary charges in 1992.
In 1993, he sexually assaulted an 18-year-old female, and then burglarized a residence a few days later. Garcia was released in 2003 after serving his ten-year prison sentence. In 2005, he was involved in the theft of expensive equipment and tools, which he pawned or gave away to others.
Garcia is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing around 180 lbs, with a tattoo on his back that says “Garcia”, and grim reaper and “LIZ” tattooed on his forearms. The Texas Department of Public Safety says Garcia is a high-risk sex offender and is highly likely to reoffend.
Anyone with information about Garcia is urged to contact Texas Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-252-TIPS (8477) or by sending a text to 274637 (CRIMES) with a message that begins with “DPS” followed by your tip. A reward up to $1,000 is available for information that leads to Garcia’s whereabouts.
