Lubbock Law Enforcement Citizens Academy Accepting Applications

The Lubbock Law Enforcement Citizens Academy is now accepting applications for the next class which begins April 3, 2018. Those who are accepted into the class will learn about many different topics including patrol procedures, SWAT, border operations, tactical driving, and much more.

As someone who has been through the Citizens Academy, I highly recommend applying if you are interested in law enforcement, support law enforcement, or just want to learn more about what the Lubbock Police, Lubbock County Sheriff's Department, and Texas Department of Public Safety do. Much of what you will see gives you a glimpse into the lives of these officers.

The Citizens Academy will only accept 25 students and each person must commit to attend at least 10 out of the 12 weeks. Applications are available at any of the three agency offices and online at lubbockcitizensacademy.com.

The application deadline is 5 p.m. on December 31, 2017.
