Kickball and softball are not just for the schoolyard anymore, and the City of Lubbock is offering leagues for both this year.

Three sessions of Kickball will be offered in 2012, and league play is available for women’s and mixed teams. Players must be at least 18 years old, and team rosters must have a minimum of eight players with a twenty-player maximum.

Those without a team are welcome to register as a free agent and their information will be passed along to teams needing players. The ten-game season lasts between 8 to 10 weeks. Registration for session 1 will be held from January 30th to February 3rd, and late registration will take place on February 6th through the 10th with an extra late fee. The cost is $200 per team.

Softball league play will also begin on March 5th. Registration begins on January 30th and runs through February 3rd, with late registration on February 6th through 10th.

Players must be at least 18 years old, and the cost is $330 per team. The 10-game season will begin on March 5th, and will last approximately 8 to 10 weeks. League play is available for men’s, women’s, and mixed teams.

To register for either of these sports, you can visit the City of Lubbock Parks and Recreation Office at 1611 10th Street during normal business hours. For more information, call Parks and Recreation at 775-2672.
