Lubbock Judge Passes Away After Motorcycle Accident

County Court at Law Judge Rusty Ladd has passed away after a motorcycle accident. Judge Ladd’s motorcycle was hit by an SUV around 8 this Friday, September 30th at 17^th and Bangor Avenue. He was taken to Covenant Medical Center with several broken bones. His injuries were orignially deemed non-life threatening. Authorities say the SUV failed to yield right of way.

Judge Ladd's motorcycle was struck only blocks from his home. Fellow workers with Ladd said the judge made sure his job was taken care of even after the crash, guaranteeing that pending cases scheduled Friday were covered.
