A Lubbock ISD high school was evacuated Monday morning due to prank calls about a bomb.

Around 9:45 a.m. Monday, Coronado High School received two prank calls, which claimed that there was a bomb in the building.

Officials evacuated the school, and after a sweep of the school by law enforcement, students were allowed to return to class.

Lubbock ISD Superintendent Berhl Robertson, Jr. issued a statement, saying, “We are asking parents and students not to lend credence to this situation, since the perpetrator is clearly seeking attention. A thorough police investigation is underway. We will be taking aggressive action against the person responsible for this senseless hoax.”

Lubbock ISD says that there is no evidence that the situation was anything more than a prank.
