Lubbock ISD Twins Named to TMEA All-State Orchestra

lubbockisd.org

Twins in Lubbock ISD have both earned musical accolades.

Michael and Nicholas Cheon are sophomores at Lubbock High School, and have both been named to the Texas Music Educators Association All-State Orchestra.

Michael plays violin, and Nicholas plays cello.

Earning a spot in the all-state orchestra is a significant accomplishment, and is particularly so for Nicholas, having been placed in the second-chair cello position in the state.

“We are very proud of these two young men,” said Lubbock ISD Director of Fine Arts Will Burks. “Membership in a Texas all-state organization places them in the top one-half of one percent of their peers across the state.”

All-State band and choir results will not be known until early 2013.
