Game on! A Lubbock Independent School District student's video game "Commander" will be featured on a national tour.

Lubbock High School freshman Haoting "Joe" Huo was selected for the Art.Write.Now Tour 2015-16, a traveling exhibition of the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.

Out of 2,200 winners, Huo was one of only seven who entered the Video Game Creation category. Of those seven, Huo was one of only three who won the gold.

Now in its sixth year, the tour is touted as having the most "fresh and relevant examples of creative work by young artists today."

Huo's video game is called Commander, and will tour along with 70 other medalists to St. Petersberg, Florida, Indianapolis, Indiana, Vermillion, South Dakota and Springs Preserve, Nevada.

You can play Huo's game for yourself. Give it a try!
