Lubbock ISD’s financial integrity has received a high ranking.

LISD has earned the “Superior Achievement” rating from the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas, also known as FIRST. This is LISD’s 11th consecutive year to earn the superior achievement rating.

The FIRST rating system holds schools accountable for the quality of their financial management.

According to a press release from the district, the system encourages Texas public schools to manage their financial resources more efficiently to provide the maximum possible allocation for direct instructional purposes.

LISD also recently earned the Gold Leadership Circle Award from the Texas Comptroller’s Office.

The Leadership Circle Award recognizes local governments or agencies that strive to meet a high standard for online financial transparency and accountability.

“Clearly, the financial health of our district is something we take very seriously,” said LISD Superintendent Berhl Robertson, Jr. “We have an obligation to our taxpayers to be good stewards of their money, and awards like these serve as independent confirmation of our efforts.”
