Lubbock ISD band students will present an annual performance next week.

The 29th Annual Band Extravaganza will be themed “The Spirit of the West” on Tuesday, September 25th at 7 p.m.

The event will take place at PlainsCapital Park Lowrey Field, located at 66th Street and Avenue P.

Lubbock ISD’s four high school bands will perform their UIL marching shows, and their feeder middle school bands will perform a song with them. The performance culminates with the traditional massed-band finale.

A new addition has been made to the event, as an ensemble of LISD band directors will begin the festivities with “The Star Spangled Banner.”

Guests at the event include the Texas Tech University “Goin Band,” and their director Duane Hill, who will serve as the guest conductor of the Band Extravaganza finale.

General admission tickets are five dollars, and may be purchased from any Lubbock ISD band student before the performance, and tickets will be six dollars at the door.
