The Lubbock housing industry continues to thrive.

Final 2013 construction numbers for Lubbock are due out next month, but between January through November of this year, construction permits for single-family homes were up 42% compared to the same time period last year.

New home permits have almost doubled compared to the same period in 2011.

The taxable value of all new construction was up 5% over last year as well, with nine new homes in the Hub City having an estimated taxable valuation in excess of a half million dollars.

National home values rose 5.2 percent in 2013 and are expected to climb 3.7 percent in 2014.
