Cathy Landtroop believes veterans have already paid their due, so the West Texas Builders Home and Garden Show is giving back to them.

"Every story is different, but every hero is unique, and we feel like they've paid for that mortgage in their service. So it's a way for us to give back," said Landtroop, who told KFYO's Collins and Mac that the organization

A portion of the proceeds made at the event will go toward building homes for veterans, she added.

This year's home will be the fourth home that has been built and will be featured at the Parade of Homes, Landtroop said.

The Home and Garden Show happens at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center Friday, March 6 from 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday, March 7 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will wrap up Sunday, March 8 from 12 to 6 p.m.
