The Lubbock High School NJROTC unit has qualified to compete in the United States Navy National Championships in Pensacola, Florida.

40 NJROTC cadets from Lubbock High will leave for Florida on Wednesday, April 11th. The public is invited to attend a celebratory send-off for the cadets in front of Lubbock High School, located at 2004 19th Street at 12:05 p.m. Wednesday.

The cadets will compete in the armed drill team, unarmed drill team, academic team, fitness team, and color guard.

“There are more than 600 NJROTC units in the nation,” said Commander Paul Hill, senior naval science instructor. “This drill meet brings the top 25 units together to determine the best of the best. I’m extremely pleased that our cadets have earned the opportunity to compete at such a high level, and they will proudly represent our school and our community.”
