Lubbock-area Girl Scouts will kick-off their annual cookie sale this weekend.

More than 600 Girl Scouts will gather at the Indiana Avenue Baptist Church to pick up their “jump start” packs of cookies and get their 2012 cookie sale underway at 10 a.m. Saturday at the parking lot of Indiana Avenue Baptist Church at 95th street and Indiana Avenue.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 9:45 a.m. to kick off the 2012 Cookie Sale.

Sales will begin in the Lubbock region on Friday, January 20th and will run until Sunday, March 4th. All cookies are $3.50 per box.

“The activity of selling cookies teaches girls 5 essential business skills: goal setting; decision making; money management; people skills; and business ethics,” said area Girl Scouts Product Sales Manager Christi Baker.
