Gas prices in the Hub City rise before the Labor Day weekend.

According to the weekly KFYO News Gas Price Survey, the average price of retail fuel in Lubbock increased a penny to $3.31 per gallon.

Motorists in Lubbock were paying more at the pump last Labor Day at $3.53 per gallon, but less three years ago for Labor Day 2010 at $2.51.

AAA Texas reports state gas price averages remained steady with no change from last week at $3.42 per gallon and national prices rose two cents to $3.55 per gallon.
