Gasoline prices in Lubbock have taken a sharp dip.

According to the weekly KFYO News Gas Price Survey, the average price of regular self-serve gas is $3.18 per gallon. That is a 10 cent drop from last week.

Lubbock motorists were paying more at the pump a year ago with prices at $3.67 per gallon. Three years ago, prices were cheaper in Lubbock at $2.58 per gallon.

Statewide prices also took a steep fall according to the AAA Texas weekly survey. Texans are paying 8 cents less than a week ago at $3.28 per gallon.

The city with the most expensive gas in Texas is Amarillo at $3.33 per gallon while the Dallas/Fort Worth Area has the cheapest surveyed gas at $3.23 per gallon. Lubbock is not part of the AAA survey.

National averages also fell six cents to $3.49 per gallon.
