The flooding in Lubbock Wednesday, June 1 caught many people by surprise.

Video captured by Lubbock's branch of the National Weather Service shows residents struggling through the water in their trucks and several cars completely submerged. Some local churches and homes were also flooded.

Lubbock saw between three and five inches of rain over the span of a two-hour period during the flash flood warning issued Wednesday.

TxDOT and the Lubbock Police Department urged the public not to drive during flooding conditions.
