Lubbock fire fighters have largely extinguished a blaze that began Monday afternoon at a central Lubbock apartment complex.

The fire broke out around 3:30 this afternoon at the Red Oaks apartment buildings at 5308 38th Street. The fire originally began as a one-alarm fire, then progressed to a two-alarm, and was later declared as a three-alarm fire due to the heat.

57 firefighters were on the scene with eight fire engines to fight the blaze.

Red Cross is on the scene. No injuries have been reported, and investigators are still looking into the cause of the fire.
