Lubbock Fire Department Responds to Mattress Fire

Wednesday morning, June 10, the Lubbock Fire Department was dispatched to a home near 23rd St. and Avenue L.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, it was discovered that a mattress had caught fire inside the home.

One man was taken to United Medical Center, but there has been no report on the severity of any injuries incurred at this time.

The Red Cross was called in to care for the two residents of the home, and the State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
