On Thursday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Daniel Garvin of the Lubbock Fire Department joined Chad Hasty and Rex Andrew about the upcoming "Fill the Boot" fundraiser.

Fill the Boot is the Fire Department's annual fundraiser benefiting the Muscular Dystrophy Association. (MDA) Firefighters will be stationed at intersections throughout Lubbock, asking drivers for donations. Garvin said that this year, they hope to raise $100,000 for MDA, and all of the money from the fundraiser will always stay local.

The fundraiser begins today and ends August 18th. Firefighters will be located at the intersections of Slide & Loop 289; University & Loop 289; 50th & Indiana, and Marsha Sharp Freeway & Quaker, from 9 AM until 5 PM. Firefighters can also be located at the Target store on Marsha Sharp & Milwaukee.
