Lubbock fire fighters extinguished a fire at a local recycling plant Tuesday morning.

The Lubbock Fire Department was called to Jarvis Steel, located at 7825 Olive Avenue, just after 9:45 a.m.

When they arrived, fire fighters had to request an additional brush truck and tanker. The fire had spread to a tank containing around 100 gallons of a fuel and oil mixture, as well as surrounding grass and a nearby fence.

The group had the fire under control by 10:18 a.m. No injuries have been reported.
