Starting today, and continuing through Wednesday, Lubbock Fire Department firefighters will conduct rescue training on the water tower at 50th Street and Indiana Avenue, near Monterey High School.

During the three days of training, firefighters will be repelling off of the side of the water tower and walking on top of the tower. There will also be simulated rescues with people positioned on various points of the tower.

Lubbock Fire Department officials urge motorists to keep rubbernecking to a minimum during the rescue training.
