The Lubbock Economic Development Alliance has announced new jobs for the Hub City.

LEDA Announced the creation of 95 new jobs Monday afternoon as a result of the expansion of two local businesses.

Shearer’s Foods, Inc. and Tyco Fire Protection Products will expand their current Lubbock locations.

Shearer’s Foods has grown from two plants to six plants during their years in Lubbock. They plan to expand their Lubbock location and add 14 new jobs over the next five years. Those jobs are expected to result in total combined salaries of nearly $448,000 and a capital investment of $2.6 million.

Tyco’s Lubbock plant is the top producer of fire sprinklers in the United States and the world, according to LEDA. They plan to create 81 new jobs resulting in total combined salaries of more than $2.29 million over the next five years.

LEDA anticipates that the total value added impact to Lubbock will be $10.2 million annually.
