The Lubbock County Democratic Party at a press conference on Thursday afternoon addressed comments by Lubbock County Judge Tom Head.

Head made remarks he made this week on the possible re-election of Barack Obama and an invasion of Lubbock County by soldiers from the United Nations.

Democratic County Chairman Kenny Ketner addressed media and local Democrats about the comments saying,

"Judge Head's remarks have once again embarrassed Lubbock on a global scale, and he should do the right thing and resign immediately."

Ketner encouraged Democrats, Republicans, independents and the people of Lubbock to attend the next county commissioners meeting on Monday, August 27th, to voice their opinion on Head's remarks.

Ketner also said that Head cannot be removed by a recall due to Texas law, but said that a Democrat candidate will be up for the County Judge seat in 2014.
