With the news this afternoon that Rick Santorum has 'suspended' his presidential campaign, reaction has come both locally and nationally.

Lubbock County Republican Party Chairman Carl Tepper this afternoon talked with KFYO News about Santorum's decision. "I don't have any specific thoughts about Rick Santorm," Tepper said. "But I am particularly annoyed that Texas was, it seemed, purposely kept out of the (Republican) nomination process. I think that the active participants and party faithful from Texas need to work to find a way to make Texas more relevant in the primary process."

The campaign for GOP presidential candidate Rep. Ron Paul also weighed in as well. In a statement released this afternoon, Jesse Benton, National Campaign Chairman for Ron Paul said, "Congratulations to Senator Santorum on running such a spirited campaign.  Dr. Paul is now the last – and real – conservative alternative to Mitt Romney.  We plan to continue running hard, secure delegates, and press the fight for limited, constitutional government in Tampa.”

Mitt Romney, who leads in GOP Convention delegates, Newt Gingrich and Rep. Ron Paul are still campaigning for the Republican Presidential Nomination.
