Lubbock County earned a special designation this week from the State of Texas.

Lubbock was given the Secretary of State’s designation, “Successful Vote Center Program.” The Vote Centers are to make it easier for voters to find a location to vote and cast their ballots on Election Day.

Lubbock was the first in Texas to engage in the Vote Center process during the 2006 elections and success followed.

After being applauded by Texas Legislators, counties across the state are following Lubbock’s lead to implement their own vote center.
