After numerous citizens turned out to chide the Lubbock City Council on their Lubbock Power and Light bills, the Council will meet next week to discuss the issue.

On his Facebook page, Lubbock Mayor Glen Robertson announced that he has met with Mayor Pro Tem Karen Gibson, and they have decided to call a special City Council meeting on Tuesday, July 30th.

The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. at Lubbock City Hall at 1625 13th Street in Council chambers.

Robertson says that they will discuss and possibly take action on the recent LP&L rate increase and other LP&L issues as well.

The Council approved the LP&L electric rate increase on May 9th of this year, with only Robertson voting against the item.
