The City of Lubbock Community Development Department will be highlighting the importance of their work during National Community Development Week, April 17-22.

First, the Lubbock City Council will present a Special Recognition celebrating Community Development Week at the City Council Meeting on April 13. The meeting starts at 5:15 p.m. in Council Chambers at Lubbock City Hall, 1625 13th Street.

The week will officially start with a ribbon cutting on Monday, April 17. The event will start at 4:00 p.m. and will take place at the Parkway Neighborhood Center, 405 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

On Wednesday, April 19 he Community Development Showcase will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Committee Room 103 at Lubbock City Hall, 1625 13th Street. This is an opportunity for the public to see how grants have improved the lives of people in Lubbock.

All events are open to the public.
