In my opinion, one of the greatest things about superheroes (or, in this case, super villains) is the magical burst of creativity they inspire in their fans.

My opening night experience becomes immersive and thrilling at the sight of cosplayers. I love to go to conventions and see everyone's unique re-imaginings of characters we all love -- or love to hate.

It's in this spirit that Lubbock's Alamo Drafthouse and Lubbock-Con are partnering to bring a fan art exhibit to the opening night of "Suicide Squad," Friday, August 5 and on Saturday, August 6 from 6 - 10 p.m.

Moviegoers will be able to catch the film and enjoy wonderful fan art all at the same place.

The artwork will be for sale, and there will also be Lubbock-Con swag and a pop-up comic shop from Star Comics.

More details can be found on their Facebook event page.
