One aggravated assault victim died due to the injuries he received in late-April on Monday, May 4, reported the Lubbock Police Department.

Antonio Gonzalez and another victim are believed to have been beaten by Lather Lewis Jr. at the Hitching Post on April 24. Gonzalez was taken to University Medical Center with severe injuries, according to a police report. The other victim, Richard Segura was taken to UMC with minor injuries.

Lewis, 32, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault of the two men on April 24 and remains in the Lubbock County Jail as of May 4 with bail set at more than $250,000.

Lubbock police said in a press release that charges will likely be upgraded when the case is presented to a grand jury.

No attorney has been listed for Lewis.
