This coming week, the City of Lubbock will have a contracted company begin road work on a local avenue.

Lone Star Dirt and Paving has been contracted by the city to begin a three phase road work project Monday, April 21st.

In phase one, the company will remove rough asphalt paving from south of the Marsha Sharp Freeway frontage road to just south of Quaker and 24th Street. The asphalt will then be replaced by concrete paving.

Work will begin on the southbound lanes just past Brownfield Drive, and go past 26th street.

The project is expected to last six to eight weeks. Motorists are urged to allot extra time for delays in traffic or find alternate routes.
