As a friend of mine said: "Pokemon is going to save America." Certainly, it has brought us together against a common enemy to catch some adorable water types. Sure, everyone thinks Team Instinct eats glue, but ultimately we're all in it together.

It is in the spirit of that collaborative effort that there is already a well-organized online presence in Lubbock for meet-ups and to talk strategy. There's more than one Facebook page, but this is the one I joined. But if you're a serious trainer, let me point you to the Subreddit devoted entirely to "Pokemon Go" in Lubbock (they were clogging up the main Lubbock Reddit and had the courtesy to move it elsewhere -- thanks, guys!).

User mackie_b is not the hero we deserve, but the hero with the organization and foresight to compile a Google map showing a bunch of Lubbock PokeStops and Gyms. Unsurprisingly, there's a ton of them both near the Texas Tech University campus. You should give him some gold or something. With 1,000 views on the map already, it's an interactive and useful tool to help us all complete our noble mission.

I just caught an Ekans next to the Lonestar 99.5 studio, but I have like 10 of these. What a waste of balls.
