The director of the area Big Brothers Big Sisters organization has been selected to serve on the group’s national council.

Cindy Miller, who serves as the executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lubbock-Plainview, has been selected for a two-year term on the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America’s National Leadership Council.

The council links local affiliates with the national headquarters, and helps bring mentoring to all the children that need another role-model in their lives.

According to a press release, the council consists of 10 board members and 10 CEO/executive directors from across the Big Brothers Big Sisters network, which has 356 local affiliates.

Miller has been with the local organization since 2001, and also sits on the Big Brothers Big Sisters Texas State Association board.
