On Monday's edition of The Chad Hasty Show, Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick joined the broadcast from Iowa. Patrick is "on the ground' working on behalf of presidential candidate and Texas Senator Ted Cruz.

Patrick talked about the unique procedures of the Iowa Caucus, and detailed the schedule of events for the evening. Patrick and Hasty also discussed Patrick's predictions for the contest, and why Iowa is so important.

Believing that the issue of Supreme Court justices is of utmost importance for the next Presidency, Patrick said, "The next president could pick three of five Supreme Court judges. And those Supreme Court judges are actually going to be in play long after whoever we elect President is gone from office in eight years. These people could be there twenty five to forty years."

Patrick described what type of judges Ted Cruz would appoint to the Court, and then talked about who possible Trump Presidency appointments would be, saying, "Donald Trump could put anybody up for the Supreme Court. I don't have a clue who he might put up. And we can't handle a Supreme Court who continues to turn America upside down."

Speaking of the differences between Republicans Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and other candidates in the race, Patrick said,

Of the two, I just think that Ted is by far the most consistent conservative. They're both [Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio] bright young men. I also like the fact that Ted knows, Ted literally has memorized the Constitution. And there's some people in this race that I don't think have read it. I know Marco has, but I mean I don't know that Trump's ever read it, and Hillary doesn't pay any attention to it.
