Lubbock Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported structure fire in Central Lubbock this morning (Wednesday).

The fire was reported just before 6 a.m. in the 2800 block of 23rd Street. When firefighters arrived, they found an active fire in a two story home. The fire then spread to a fence and the backyard of a neighboring home.

All four occupants were able to escape unharmed, but the home is reported to be a total loss. The Red Cross is assisting the displaced occupants.

At this time the cause of the fire is unknown and the Fire Marshal's Office is currently conducting an investigation.
