One person is dead after a hit-and-run crash in Levelland. KAMC News reports the incident occurred Thursday night (Nov. 1st) along Highway 114, just east of Sherman Avenue.

It's been reported that the name of the pedestrian that was struck and killed is George Earl Thomas. KAMC News also reports that Thomas was taken to Covenant Medical Hospital for treatment, but died there a short time later.

It's unclear if the hit-and-run might have been intentional, but police say the driver did flee the scene.

Eastbound traffic along the highway was detoured around the scene the night of the accident. Police are still looking for the driver of the vehicle. Levelland police are also managing another pedestrian accident that occurred Friday morning, but details on that separate accident are not yet available.
