A Lamesa man was killed in a vehicle crash on US 62/180 at mile marker 66, just west of Hobbs, New Mexico on Thursday (June 7th).

At around 11:30 a.m., 23-year-old Zachary Ryden was traveling eastbound on US 82/180 when his vehicle crashed into the rear of a semi-tractor trailer, also traveling eastbound. Ryden sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the semi sustained non-life-threatening injuries and the crash remains under investigation.
