Texas Tech women’s basketball has moved up in a notable poll.

The Lady Raiders are now ranked 19th in the Associated Press Poll released Monday, a jump of six spots from last week.

This ranking is the highest in the AP Poll since November 21st, 2005, when the team was ranked 14th.

This leap in the poll comes after beating Houston 88 to 58 on Wednesday at Hofheinz Pavilion in Houston. Texas A&M’s women’s basketball team is ranked 5th in the poll, and Oklahoma is 12th. Connecticut ranked 2nd, and Baylor heads up the list.

The Tech women’s basketball team will face off against the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Central Arkansas, and Louisiana-Monroe in the Basketball Travelers Tournament at the United Spirit Arena this weekend.
