Last week, News/Talk 790, KFYO changed our weekday morning lineup. The change involved a reshuffling of our shows from 6a-11a, weekdays. Lubbock's First News with Tom Collins and Laura Mac now airs from 6a-8:30a. Chad Hasty is now hosting is own solo show from 8:30a-11a as our lead-in to Rush Limbaugh. "The Way I See It" with Paul R. Beane will be moving to 1:30p on November 1.

Here are some answers to a few of the questions I have received from you, our loyal listeners:

Q: What happened to Neal Boortz?

A: Neal Boortz's show no longer airs on KFYO. The decision to cease airing Neal's show before his retirement take took effect was one that wasn't taken lightly. However, there were many factors at play, including Neal's vacation time before his mid-January retirement and the Fall ratings period.

Q: What happened to Rex Andrew?

A: Rex Andrew is still with KFYO. You will hear him contributing more to KFYO News and occasionally filling in for one of our talk show hosts. Rex has been a valued member of the KFYO staff for many years and you will continue to hear him on-air and read his news stories at KFYO.com.  *UPDATED* As of October 17, Rex Andrew is no longer with KFYO News. He has decided to pursue his duties with Lubbock Right to Life full-time.

Q: Why move Chad Hasty out of the morning show timeslot?

A: We promoted Chad Hasty to the Rush Limbaugh lead-in timeslot because of his success hosting Lubbock's First News. Also, with the new timeslot (8:30a-11a) Chad will be able to have more newsmaker interviews and more time for listener interaction during his show.

Q: What can you tell me about the new morning show?

A: Well, Lubbock's First News is being hosted by Tom Collins and Laura Mac.  The show is faster paced and will include more information content. Tom and Laura are known by many in Lubbock and are connected to many different facets of the community. Congressman Randy Neugebauer is still appearing on Lubbock's First News Monday mornings at 7:36a and Lubbock Mayor Glen Robertson will make his customary Friday morning appearances after Thursday night Lubbock City Council meetings.
