On the Tuesday edition of The Chad Hasty Show, KFYO News's Matt Crow spoke with Chad Hasty about Steve Massengale's recently announced campaign for the Texas House of Representatives.

Massengale, a small business owner and current president of the Lubbock ISD Board of Trustees, made his official announcement at 10AM today at Waters Elementary School. He will be running for the District 83 seat, challenging the incumbent candidate Charles Perry. Crow said that Massengale's event had a good turn-out, and that he seems to be an engaging and charismatic candidate. Crow also noted that Massengale used the recent Obamacare debacle to highlight his opposition to "top-down government polices."

At the event, Crow asked Massengale what separates him from his opponent Charles Perry. Although he gave no specific differences, Massengale said that he will be a more efficient representative than Perry. Massengale was also asked about his thoughts on C-SCOPE and Common Core. According to Crow, Massengale replied that Common Core was not used in LISD, so he had no thoughts on it. As for C-SCOPE, Massengale said there were some parts he liked and some parts he disliked, but nothing was specifically pointed out.
