Thursday on The Chad Hasty Show, Lubbock City Councilwoman Karen Gibson joined Chad in the KFYO studio to talk about important issues facing the city of Lubbock.

Gibson and Hasty discussed LP&L and the power needs of the city, downtown Lubbock redevelopment, the possibility of minor league baseball coming to Lubbock, progress on Citizen's Tower, the city budget, and the search for a new City Manager.

While describing qualities she would like to see in the new City Manager, Gibson said, "I would like somebody that has had lots of budget experience, I think that's extremely important. Obviously a conservative person is important to me. Someone that can lead people, not micro-manage people. I think leadership skills are extremely important in this situation. We need someone that's going to come in and be the leader, and not have their thumb on everything they do."

Council members Gibson and Jeff Griffith will be holding a townhall meeting on August 31, 2016 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Red Zone Cafe at 3602 Slide Rd. Citizens are invited to attend and ask questions.
