On Wednesday's Chad Hasty Show, Lubbock City Council members Karen Gibson and Jeff Griffith joined Chad in the KFYO studio to talk about the upcoming City Council meeting and the proposed tax increase for Lubbock.

Also discussed were the franchise fee, Lubbock Economic Development Alliance (LEDA) and Market Lubbock proposed incentives for businesses to move downtown, as well as the storm water rate structure and the possibility of a dog park. The City Council meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 10, 2015.

When asked about the different proposals on the table, and whether a tax increase was actually needed, Gibson replied, "We do not need a tax increase." Gibson continued, saying, "...we don't need it this year, and can still do everything that's in the budget without that tax increase."
