On Friday, Juan Chadis joined The Chad Hasty Show to talk about why he wants represent District 1 on the Lubbock City Council, and what his goals would be if he is elected.

Chadis and Hasty talked about a number of issues, among them were his experience, the crime rate in District 1, taxes and annexation, as well as the problem of abandoned and neglected houses and their absentee landlords.

While discussing how to curtail crime, Chadis talked about how police substations could be a factor in the solution. Chadis said,

The [Lubbock police] chief has already said that he was wanting to start the substations. I'm in total agreement with that. And the reason for that is, you have your police presence in these neighborhoods. Now he's talking about putting these police substations in the fire stations, which I'm for also. Police presence, to me would curtail crime, because now you know the police are there. They have their beat, which is great, I'm all for that. The police officer now, will be recognized. He'll have a rapport with the people in the neighborhoods.
