On the Thursday edition of The Chad Hasty Show, Jon David Bruegel spoke with Chad Hasty about his campaign for Lubbock County Commissioner Precinct 2.

Bruegel explained that he strives to bring a "conservative vision" to the Lubbock County Commissioner's office, Although he is a younger candidate, Bruegel says he has plenty of experience in politics, having run several campaigns and worked in the Texas House of Representatives.

One of the changes Bruegel would like to implement if elected would be to follow the lead of the Lubbock City Council and move the Commissioners' meeting to evenings. He added that he planned to focus mostly on tax issues, and that taxes should not be raised unless the budget has been trimmed down to be a cost effective as possible.

"One of my concerns for many years has been insuring that our local taxes are kept reasonable and low to offset the crazy ballooning tax rates at the federal level and even the state level...I think there's comes a point when we've got our county budget trimmed down and efficient. And if the county's still growing and we're not able to provide our basic services after we've trimmed the budget and made sure everything is efficient, then I think we can look at [raising taxes.]"
