Jodey Arrington joined Pratt on Texas on Thursday, July 10th, to discuss his candidacy for Senate District 28. Previous senator Robert Duncan left the position after being officially appointed as the new chancellor of the Texas Tech University System on July 7th, 2014.

In the interview, Arrington introduced himself and his position on various political issues associated with Senate District 28. Arrington has spent more than seven years working in the Texas Tech University System. He served as Chief of Staff for four years and has spent the last three years as Vice Chancellor for Research and Commercialization.

Arrington briefly discussed his stance on issues that he'll face in the legislature, such as state highway funding.

"We need to roll up our sleeves and make sure that there truly is a need and that those things are managed in a fiscally responsible way . . . . Government ought to be limited, but it ought to also be effective and it ought to be efficient," Arrington said.
