On the Thursday edition of The Chad Hasty Show, Lubbock City Councilman Jim Gerlt joined the show to talk about his campaign for reelection and issues facing the city of Lubbock.

During the interview, Gerlt and Hasty discussed many issues including taxes and funding of city needs. Speaking of the differing views and reporting on tax increases versus fee increases, Gerlt said, "Gerlt raised taxes, ok, if that's what you want to lead with, but here's the other side of it: Gerlt lowered fees. Gerlt made it possible to pay cash (for water and other expenditures)."
