Jill Schneider Awarded Developmental Coach of the Year by USA Basketball

A local high school basketball coach has received a national award. Monterey Girl’s Basketball coach Jill Rankin Schneider was named by the USA Basketball Board of Directors as Co-Winner of the Developmental Coach of the Year. This is the second consecutive year the Schneider has won the award.

Schneider was selected for the honor for her leadership and success with the USA Women’s team that went 8-0 and won the gold medal at the International Basketball Federation’s Under 17 World Championship this past August.

The award was created in 1996 to recognize a USA Basketball Coach who has made a significant impact on the success of the individual athletes and team performance.
