Tuesday on The Chad Hasty Show, Lubbock City Council District 3 Representative Jeff Griffith joined Chad in the KFYO studio to talk about issues in front of the city of Lubbock.

Griffith and Hasty discussed the city's current search for a new city manager to replace the retiring James Loomis, and the controversial issue of possibly updating the city's electrical power use metering system to advanced meters, also known as "smart meters".

While describing the qualifications the city is looking for in a new city manager, Griffith said,

We hope to have someone that runs this like a business, a great CEO, and we hope that we have someone that will take some of [the City Council's] direction. But it's not our job, as per the [city] charter to get in the weeds. In other words, we need somebody to run this city.

Also in the discussion were the proposed use of "smart meters" by LP&L, as well as the proposed tax abatement for Monsanto Company.
